About

How to Become a Father in Florida: Paternity Law Education Who does Florida law recognize as a father, and what does that mean for you and your child? This self-paced course from the BaBa Project at Inspiration and Change, Inc. explains fathers’ rights and responsibilities in plain language. You’ll work through three real-life scenarios, test what you know with a quiz after each one, and then learn the answers. The course covers the difference between biological, legal and presumptive fathers, and what being named on a birth certificate does and does not give you. You’ll also see the Florida paternity forms and the steps for establishing paternity and a parenting plan. Who it’s for: fathers, future fathers, mothers, and anyone who supports families or co-parents in Florida. Length: about 15 minutes of narrated video across 6 lessons, with quizzes. This course is for education only and is not legal advice.
